POSITION SUMMARY:
In this role, you will perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment and troubleshoot and repair both low voltage and high voltage circuits. In addition, you will perform tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level pressure, and temperature, and calibrate components and instruments, in accordance with our site safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production and facilities related equipment to ensure proper and safe operation of all systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair both low voltage and high voltage circuits in a timely and orderly manner.
- Perform basic and advanced diagnosis to determine root cause failure with the aid of blueprints and schematics, also perform replacement of motors, meters, switches, photo-eyes, and other electrical components.
- Effectively analyze PLC’s, HMIs, and VFD’s for improper operation and perform corrective measures, while utilizing tools such as PC’s, multimeters, thermography, vibration analysis, and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot electrical equipment.
- Effectively utilize a computerized maintenance management system to retrieve assigned work and document maintenance activities such as work completed, parts request, inventory usage, etc.
- Install new electrical control systems and maintain existing control systems as directed.
- Perform tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level pressure, temperature, and other variables in manufacturing and calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a 5-year apprenticeship (50-414-2 Electrical & Instrumentation) industrial journeyman’s card.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience as an Industrial Electrician or Technician in a related field
- Perform tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level pressure, temperature, and other variables in manufacturing and processing
- Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturer’s specifications
- Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new plant equipment and processes
- Experience in PLC and HMI programming in closed loop control systems
- Advanced VS drive systems experience with web handling equipment
- Ability to work in a USW Union environment
- Ability to work 12-hour swing shift that includes weekends
- Swing shift: 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am on a 2-week rotation
- Personal computer skills in Microsoft products, networking, and computer maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

WORK SCHEDULE: Start on 1st shift (6am-3pm Monday through Friday, a 45-hour work week).
Must be willing to also work rotating 12s (6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am on a 2-week rotation, including weekends), based on upcoming retirements and changes to seniority preferences.
COMPENSATION: This is an hourly position with a starting pay of $41.36 per hour to $42.65 per hour.
Double time is awarded for any hours worked during each Sunday of the year.
